Bird Seed Biscuits

The kids made this bird seed biscuit recipe from Family Fun Magazine today, since there was no school (again LOL). It was really easy and they could do it all by themselves with items we already had on hand. We hung them out back for our birdie friends to enjoy!

Recipe (makes 2 biscuits, we doubled it to make 4):
3/4 cup bird seed
1 tbl. flour
2 tbl. water

~Mix ingredients in a small bowl.

~Grease the inside of shaped cookie cutters (we used a heart, flower, tree, and cat LOL).

~Press mixture into cutters and place on foil lined baking sheet.

~Insert a 2" section of a plastic drinking straw into each biscuit to create a hole for hanging.

~Bake at 170 degrees for one hour, with straws intact.

~Cool completely, remove straws, and tie ribbon or string for hanging.

Ha ha, there is something funny about birds eating a cat-shaped biscuit! Those turned out really cute.

Hi! I googled birdseed biscuit and I came across your post. I just made these biscuits with my son's class and they didn't turn out. They totally crumbled :( What do you think? Did you use any more water or flour?
